The Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history and teaching American history to future generations. The organization was founded in 1889 and is headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky. The SAR initiated the official recognition of Constitution Day, Flag Day, and Bill of Rights Day.
